India’s Pace Queen Strikes Again! Arundhati Reddy Bags ICC Player of the Month

Patiala, 23 March (Sports Desk)

Arundhati Reddy has been awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February 2026, in recognition of her outstanding performances that played a pivotal role in India’s historic T20I series victory in Australia.

This is the first time the right-arm pacer has received the prestigious monthly honour in her international career, and she expressed her delight at the recognition.

“It’s a real honour to be named ICC Player of the Month, and even more special knowing I was able to contribute to a T20I series win in Australia. Beating Australia on their home turf is never easy, which makes this award even more meaningful,” Reddy said.

“This series win has given our team a huge boost of confidence as we build towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales this summer. We’ve got a well-balanced squad, and I believe we’ll be a team to watch.”

Reddy emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the three-match T20I series against Australia, claiming 8 wickets at an impressive average of 10.87 and an economy rate of 7.25.

She set the tone right from the opening match in Sydney, where she delivered a career-best 4/22 to earn Player of the Match honours and help India take a 1-0 lead.

Reddy continued her fine form in the subsequent games, picking up 2/30 in Canberra and 2/35 in the series-deciding match in Adelaide.

Her consistent and impactful bowling was instrumental in India securing a memorable 2-1 series win — their first T20I series triumph on Australian soil since 2016.

India will now look to Reddy’s continued form and experience as they prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in England and Wales starting June 12, 2026.
