Patiala, January 27
Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee and international cyclist Jagdeep Singh Kahlon has been appointed as the technical officer for cycling by the Cycling Federation of India for the 38th National Games, scheduled to be held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025. This appointment has been made jointly by the Cycling Federation of India and the Indian Olympic Association.

Kahlon, a renowned figure in Indian cycling, has a distinguished career with numerous accolades, including being a five-time national champion. He has also actively contributed to the sports community through various roles, serving as a committee member of the Khelo India Scheme, a member of the North Zone Cycling Talent Identification Zonal Committee, media coordinator of the Cycling Federation of India, convener of the Athletes Commission of the Cycling Federation of India, and executive committee member of the District Olympic Association Patiala.

Expressing his gratitude, Kahlon stated that he will dedicate himself to fulfilling this responsibility and strive to contribute to the growth of cycling in India and Punjab.
Several dignitaries, including General Secretary of the Asian Cycling Confederation Onkar Singh, Olympians Swaran Singh Virk and Sukhmeet Singh (Arjuna Awardee), Mandeep Jangra (Arjuna Awardee), and representatives from various sports organizations, congratulated Kahlon on his appointment.
