Jal Bus Project Was a Symbol of Corruption: Tourism Minister

Chandigarh, January 21

Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond has categorically stated that there are no plans to restart the Jal Bus service. He dismissed recent media reports suggesting the government’s intention to relaunch the service as baseless rumors.

Minister Sond strongly criticized the previous governments for investing approximately Rs. 8.63 crore in the Jal Bus project, deeming it a wasteful expenditure that burdened the people of Punjab. He highlighted that the Jal Bus was a symbol of corruption and is currently under investigation due to concerns regarding its operational safety.
