The Khelo India Para Games 2025 (KIPG 2025) will be held from March 20 to 27 across three venues in New Delhi, marking the second edition of this prestigious event. Organized as part of the Government of India’s Khelo India initiative, which aims to promote sports at the grassroots level, the Khelo India Para Games provide a platform for para-athletes to showcase their talent and compete at the national level.
Approximately 1,200 athletes from 36 states and Union Territories are expected to participate in KIPG 2025. The event will feature six sports: archery, athletics, badminton, powerlifting, shooting, and table tennis. Notably, football (cerebral palsy), which was included in the first edition, will not be part of this year’s lineup.

Venues and Schedule
- Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium: Athletics, archery, and powerlifting events will be held from March 21 to 26.
- IG Stadium Complex: Badminton and table tennis competitions will take place from March 20 to 27.
- Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range: Shooting events are scheduled from March 21 to 25.
Background and Significance
The inaugural edition of the Khelo India Para Games was held in December 2023 in Delhi. Haryana emerged as the top-performing state, securing 40 gold, 39 silver, and 26 bronze medals, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in second and third places, respectively.
The Khelo India initiative has played a pivotal role in nurturing para-athletes, with 25 Khelo India athletes representing India at the Paris Paralympics 2024. These athletes contributed significantly to India’s record-breaking haul of 29 medals, including five podium finishes by Khelo India alumni.
Upcoming Events
The Khelo India Para Games 2025 will be the second national event organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in 2025, following the Khelo India Winter Games. The Winter Games, conducted in phases, began in Ladakh in January 2025 and will conclude in Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir, on March 12.
The Khelo India Para Games 2025 aim to further strengthen India’s para-sports ecosystem, providing athletes with opportunities to excel and inspiring the next generation of para-athletes. The event underscores the government’s commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of sports for all.
