Educators’ gesture reflects commitment to community beyond classrooms, says Harjot Singh Bains
Chandigarh, September 15
In a remarkable show of solidarity and empathy, teachers and non-teaching staff from Government Senior Secondary Schools in Ludhiana district collectively donated ₹31.53 lakh to the Punjab Chief Minister Flood Relief Fund, supporting the state’s ongoing efforts to aid flood-affected communities.
The contribution was formally presented to Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains in Nangal today by a delegation led by District Education Officer (Secondary), Ludhiana, Dimple Madan, who handed over the cheques on behalf of Ludhiana’s education community. The delegation included Deputy DEO Amandeep Singh, State Sports Committee Member Ajit Pal, and Physics Lecturer Dinesh Modi.
Harjot Bains praised the initiative, stating, “This generous contribution from our educators showcases their compassion and dedication to the community. By supporting the state’s relief efforts, they are proving that their commitment extends far beyond the classroom. This act of solidarity will significantly aid in providing relief and rehabilitation to those impacted by the floods.”
