The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna has received an overwhelming response across Punjab, with massive public participation marking a successful day-one rollout under the Bhagwant Mann government.
Key Highlights of the Scheme Launch (January 23, 2026):

Universal Coverage with No Income Limit: Every family in Punjab—approximately 65 lakh families (covering nearly 3 crore people)—is eligible for cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family per year. This sets a national benchmark as the first scheme of its kind without any income cap.

Massive Empanelment: Over 820–850 government and private hospitals (with more to be added soon) are empanelled, enabling even the poorest families to access top-quality treatment at private facilities.

Comprehensive Benefits: Includes more than 2,356 treatment packages (up from the previous 1,600), covering major departments like orthopaedics, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, urology, oncology, general medicine, and more. All medicines, tests, diagnostics, and hospital expenses for both major and minor illnesses are fully cashless—only the health card is required at admission.

Fast-Track Registration Drives: Cabinet Ministers and AAP leaders actively led on-ground enrolment across towns and villages. Ministers Aman Arora, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Laljit Singh Bhullar, and Hardeep Singh Mundian spearheaded the outreach, with door-to-door campaigns, village camps, and registrations at Common Service Centres.
- Aman Arora (at Sunam Udham Singh Wala): Emphasized free treatment up to ₹10 lakh, including all medicines/tests, and highlighted the scheme’s inclusive design.
- Lal Chand Kataruchak (Pathankot villages): Initiated door-to-door registrations; personally handed a card to an accident victim; noted 14 hospitals attached in the district.
- Hardeep Singh Mundian (Sahnewal camp): Inaugurated registration drive; praised AAP’s healthcare push, including 1,000 Mohalla Clinics built in four years (vs. 400 PHCs in 75 years prior) and upcoming 2,500 Pind Clinics.
- Laljit Singh Bhullar (Tarn Taran): Stressed access for the poorest to the best private hospitals.

Eligibility & Process: No restrictions—government employees, pensioners, and all Punjab residents qualify.
