Cheque presented to Education Minister Harjot Bains for CM Flood Relief Fund

In a remarkable show of solidarity and social responsibility, Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur, donated ₹3.5 lakh to the Punjab Chief Minister Flood Relief Fund to support ongoing relief efforts for flood-affected communities across the state.
A delegation from the university, led by Vice Chancellor Dr. SK Mishra, met Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Harjot Bains to present the cheque. The delegation included key officials such as the Registrar, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Planning & Development, and Assistant Registrar.
The funds were raised through voluntary contributions from the university’s faculty and staff, who donated one day’s salary to assist those impacted by the recent catastrophic floods in Punjab.

Praising the initiative, Minister Bains said, “In these trying times, the contribution from Sardar Beant Singh State University exemplifies the spirit of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’ and collective responsibility. Dr. Mishra highlighted the university’s dedication to social causes, stating, “We hope our contribution inspires other organizations and individuals to come forward and support flood-affected families in rebuilding their lives.
