M. M. Modi College Clinches Punjabi University Inter-College Women’s Cricket Championship

Patiala, February 5,
Multani Mal Modi College has emerged victorious in the Punjabi University Inter-College Cricket Championship (Women) by defeating LBS Arya Mahila College, Barnala in the final match held at Punjabi University, Patiala Campus.
Batting first, LBS Arya College posted a total of 45 runs for 3 wickets in 10 overs. In response, Multani Mal Modi College chased down the target in just 3 overs without losing a wicket, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 250.

Outstanding Individual Performances
Vanshika Mahajan was named “Best Player of the Match” for her match-winning 32 runs. She had also delivered a stellar performance in the semi-final, scoring 60 runs at a strike rate of 261. Team captain Himanshi Saini led from the front with an excellent display, while Shruti Yadav and Aastha also contributed significantly to the team’s success.
The championship-winning squad included Ruhi, Surjeet, Kanwal, Ekmanpreet, Jaspreet, Lovepreet, Payal, Aradhna, Anju, and Yashmeen. Notably, this was Multani Mal Modi College’s first-ever participation in the Punjabi University Inter-College Women’s Cricket Championship, making the victory even more remarkable.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal (Principal), Dr. Sumeet Kumar (Dean, Sports), and Dr. Rohit Sachdeva (Dean, Academics) congratulated the team on their historic achievement. Principal Dr. Goyal also appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Nishan Singh (Head, Sports Dept.), Dr. Harneet Singh, and Prof. Mandeep Kaur in guiding the team to victory.
