Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, under the leadership of Registrar and College Principal Dr. Anubhav Walia, organized an electrifying athletics meet at Prof. Gursevak Singh Government College of Physical Education, Patiala. The event was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Isha Singal as the chief guest, with Dr. Rajbir Singh Gill, Deputy Director of NIS, attending as a special guest.

The program commenced with a vibrant march past by university and college students, symbolizing unity and competitive spirit. Athletes showcased exceptional talent across a range of events, including the 100m, 400m, and 1500m races, shot put, long jump, high jump, tug of war, and relay races.

Highlights of the Event

  • Cultural Extravaganza: Students enthralled the audience with dynamic Bhangra performances, serene yoga displays, and sports-themed dance routines.
  • Award Ceremony: ADC Isha Singal honored top performers, including:
    • Best Male Athlete: Mohak Manav Das (B.P.Ed 2nd Year student).
    • Best Female Athlete: Roshni (B.P.Ed 1st Year student).
    • Athlete of the Year: Harkirat Singh (Prof. Gursevak Singh Government College of Physical Education).

Teams from M.P.Ed, B.P.Ed, and B.P.Ed final-year students demonstrated remarkable teamwork and dedication, embodying the spirit of collaboration.

Organizational Efforts

The meet was coordinated by Dr. Sanman Kaur Bains (Assistant Professor of English) and Dr. Lovleen Bala (Assistant Professor of Physical Education), with support from the university and college staff. Their meticulous planning ensured the event’s success.
