Deputy Commissioners Instructed to Ensure Officers’ Presence in Tehsil Offices
Chandigarh, May 6
To address the absence of officers and staff in Tehsil offices and eliminate inconvenience to the public, the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has made a significant decision. Strict instructions have been issued to Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to be present in government offices from 9 AM until evening.
Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Hardip Singh Mundian announced this while directing Deputy Commissioners to ensure the presence of officers in Tehsil offices. Additionally, the attendance of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and Sub-Registrars will now be recorded through the M-Seva app. For this purpose, the GPS locations of all offices must be provided to the Revenue Department.

Mundian emphasized that alternative arrangements should be made at vacant posts, considering seniority and the availability of required staff, to ensure that no individual visiting for registration faces any issues. He further stated that if someone has booked an appointment online, their registration must be completed on the same day.
Financial Commissioner Revenue Anurag Verma also issued a letter to all Deputy Commissioners, urging strict compliance with the Revenue Department’s directives. He reiterated that the government’s goal is to ensure that the public faces no difficulties in registering their properties.
