Patiala, 01 April (Sports Desk)
India’s shooting sensation, Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic bronze medallist, will headline a robust 43-member Indian contingent at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, kicking off on Thursday, April 3. This event, the first ISSF World Cup of the season for rifle, pistol, and shotgun disciplines, sets the stage for an exciting 2025 for Indian shooters. Fans can catch every moment live on Olympics.com, with no TV telecast available in India.
A Global Showdown with India in the Spotlight
The Buenos Aires meet will see over 400 shooters from 45 countries compete, but India stands tall with the largest squad—43 athletes—ready to showcase their skills. As the season opener, this World Cup paves the way for the second event in Lima, Peru, from April 13 to 22.
Manu Bhaker: The Face of India’s Campaign
Fresh off her double bronze haul at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Manu Bhaker will take aim in the pistol events, bringing her world-class talent to Buenos Aires. While her Paris mixed team partner, Sarabjot Singh, won’t be joining her, and Swapnil Kusale, the Paris bronze medallist in men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, is also absent, Bhaker’s presence ensures India remains a force to watch.

India’s Stellar Lineup
The Indian contingent blends Olympic experience with rising talent. Alongside Bhaker, several Paris 2024 Olympians will compete:
- Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer Sidhu (25m rapid fire pistol)
- Esha Singh (25m sports pistol)
- Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Sift Kaur Samra (50m rifle 3 positions)
- Arjun Babuta (10m air rifle)
- Prithviraj Tondaiman and Anantjeet Singh Naruka (trap)
- Raiza Dhillon (skeet)
A notable returnee is Saurabh Chaudhary, the Asian Games and World Cup gold medallist, who joins the men’s pistol team. After a post-Tokyo 2020 slump, the 22-year-old is back in form, having smashed records at the national trials in January.
