Meet the New Principals of 21 Punjab Government Colleges

Move aimed at boosting efficiency and academic excellence in government colleges: Harjot Singh Bains

Chandigarh, January 27

In a major step to strengthen Punjab’s higher education sector, the Punjab Government has issued posting orders for 21 new principals in government colleges across the state.

Punjab Higher Education Minister  Harjot Bains announced that the appointments include 13 senior lecturers promoted to the post of principal and eight newly recruited principals, bringing a perfect mix of experience and fresh ideas to the institutions.

The promoted principals and their postings are:

  • Vinita Rao – Government College, Dera Bassi
  • Sham Sundar – Shaheed Udham Singh Government College, Sunam
  • Ami Bhalla – Sant Baba Sewa Singh Memorial Government College (Girls), Guru Ka Khuh, Munne (Nurpur Bedi)
  • Mamta – Government College, Raikot
  • Jagjeet Kaur – Government College, Shahkot
  • Navdeep Singh – Government College, Nial Patran
  • Nandini Vaid – Government College, Machhiwara
  • Manju Kapoor – Government College, Sri Muktsar Sahib
  • Jaspreet Kaur Grewal – Government College, Mandi Gobindgarh
  • Pooja Kohli – Government College, Kotkapura
  • Amandeep Bhatti – Sri Guru Arjan Dev Government College, Tarn Taran
  • Jasmeet Sethi – Government College of Education, Jalandhar
  • Sarita – Government College, Malerkotla

The eight newly recruited principals have been posted as follows:

  • Manish Kumar – Government College, Pojewal
  • Sumit Brar – Government College, Jagraon
  • Parul Khanna – Government College, Mukhliana, Chabbewal
  • Rajiv Khosla – Government College, Talwara
  • Aneet Kumar – Government College, Dhudike
  • Gulshan Kumar – Government Brijindra College, Faridkot
  • Savita Gupta – Government College, Dholbaha
  • Harinder Singh – Government College, Shahbaazpur, Tarn Taran

Minister Bains stated, “The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is leaving no stone unturned to provide dynamic and experienced leadership to our colleges. These appointments will shape the future of Punjab’s youth and raise the standards of higher education.”

He emphasised that the new principals will significantly enhance efficiency and academic outcomes in government colleges. The Punjab Government remains fully committed to building a modern, future-ready education system that empowers students and prepares them for success.
