Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, celebrated the 149th birth anniversary of its visionary founder, Rai Bahadur Seth Multani Mal Modi, with a week-long series of events.
Academic and Cultural Celebrations: The celebrations included various academic, scientific, literary, and skill-based competitions and activities. The college’s management committee emphasized Modi’s role as a social reformer who believed in transforming society through education and knowledge.
Education as a Tool for Social Change: College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal highlighted Modi’s vision of using education as a catalyst for social change and critical thinking. He emphasized the importance of education in fostering a multidisciplinary environment.
NSS Blood Donation Camp: An NSS-led blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with the Buddy Group and Red Ribbon Club, resulting in 50 units of blood being donated.

Inter-Institutional Science Fair: The college hosted the Inter-Institutional Science Fair 2024 on the theme “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development.” Over 275 students from 16 schools and nine colleges participated, showcasing their projects on various topics related to science and technology.
Special Lecture on Literature: A renowned Punjabi writer, Balwinder Singh Grewal, delivered a special lecture on “The Role of Books in Human Life.” He encouraged students to embrace literature to cultivate curiosity, storytelling, and creative thinking.
Essay Writing Competition: The Departments of Computer Science, English, Hindi, and Punjabi organized an essay writing competition. Students explored topics such as urbanization’s impact on the environment, technology’s role in shaping the future, and the influence of OTT platforms.
Hawan Yajna: The week-long celebrations culminated in a Hawan Yajna attended by all staff members and members of the managing committee.
