NZCC Patiala Gets New Leadership as Ashwin Mahesh Dalvi Assumes Additional Charge
Patiala, June 19:
The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has entrusted senior art and culture administrator Ashwin Mahesh Dalvi with the additional responsibility of Director of the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala. Dalvi is currently serving as the Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, and will now oversee and guide the activities of both cultural centres.
Widely recognised for his extensive experience in the fields of art, culture and administration, Dalvi’s appointment is being seen as an important step towards further strengthening the country’s cultural landscape. He has made significant contributions to the development of cultural institutions, preservation of heritage, and promotion of artists by providing them with meaningful platforms. He also served as the Chairman of the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi during 2017-18.
According to sources, after assuming the additional charge, Dalvi will focus on accelerating cultural programmes across northern states, strengthening folk art preservation initiatives, and encouraging young artists through various promotional activities. Under his leadership, the diverse schemes and programmes of the North Zone Cultural Centre are expected to become more dynamic and impactful.
Dalvi formally assumed charge after paying a courtesy visit to Chandigarh Administrator and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. He also visited the Kalagram Cultural Complex in Chandigarh and the NZCC centre in Patiala to review ongoing activities and interact with officials.

The centre plays a vital role in promoting the folk arts, music, dance, theatre and cultural heritage of North India through a wide range of programmes and events.
