Pakistan achieved a historic feat by completing a clean sweep of South Africa in their home ODI series, winning the final match in Johannesburg by 36 runs (DLS method). This marks South Africa’s first-ever home ODI series whitewash.
Saim Ayub continued his impressive form, scoring his second century of the series (101) and also contributing with the ball (1/34). He played a key role alongside four other wicket-takers in securing the victory.

Match 3 Summary:
- Pakistan, after being put in to bat, recovered from an early loss to post a competitive 308/9. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam built a crucial 115-run partnership. Mohammad Rizwan also contributed significantly with 53 runs.
- South Africa’s chase started quickly, but Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Sufiyan Muqeem (4/52), consistently took wickets, restricting them to a lower total. Naseem Shah also took a crucial early wicket.
- The match was decided by the DLS method, with Pakistan winning by 36 runs.

- 1st ODI (Paarl): South Africa scored 239/9, with Heinrich Klaasen top-scoring (86). Salman Agha took 4/32 for Pakistan. Pakistan chased down the target, winning by three wickets, thanks to Saim Ayub’s 109 and Agha’s 82*.
- 2nd ODI (Newlands): Pakistan posted a strong total of 329, with Mohammad Rizwan (80), Babar Azam (73), and Kamran Ghulam (63 off 32 balls) contributing significantly. South Africa were bowled out for 248, with Shaheen Afridi taking 4/47. Pakistan won by 81 runs.
This series win provides a significant confidence boost for Pakistan heading into the upcoming Champions Trophy.
