Park Hospital Patiala Completes 3000 Successful Cardiac Interventions

Park Hospital Patiala announced the completion of 3000 successful cardiac interventions on Thursday. Addressing a press conference, Senior Consultant Cardiology Dr. Harsimranjit Singh stated that the Center of Excellence for Cardiac Sciences at Park Hospital is equipped with all facilities related to the treatment of heart conditions. In India, 4.77 million people die from heart disease each year, while globally, the annual death toll stands at 17.9 million, projected to rise to 2.3 million by 2030.

He also shared that approximately 30 million people in India suffer from coronary artery disease. The country is soon expected to have the highest number of heart disease cases worldwide. He noted that over the next decade, heart diseases will become the leading cause of death and disability in India.

Vice President of Medical Services Dr. Bramprakash said, “According to recent statistics, approximately 30 percent of the urban population and 15 percent of the rural population suffer from high blood pressure and heart attacks.
