The third evening of the Patiala Heritage Festival-2025 witnessed a grand celebration of Punjab’s rich heritage, fashion, and music through the ‘Rang Punjab De ’ fashion show. Organized by the district administration in collaboration with the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, the event took place at the open courtyard of the historic Qila Mubarak in Patiala. The unique fusion of traditional Punjabi attire, modern fashion, and soulful music left the audience spellbound.

A Grand Opening Steeped in Tradition

The event was inaugurated by DIG Mandip Singh Sidhu , Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav , and renowned Punjabi actor Binnu Dhillon , who lit the ceremonial lamp at the eternal flame of Baba Ala Singh, which has been burning for over 260 years inside Qila Mubarak. This symbolic gesture marked the beginning of an evening that celebrated Punjab’s vibrant cultural legacy.

The program was hosted by the multi-talented artist Satinder Satti , a celebrated singer, poet, and anchor, whose charismatic presence added charm to the event. Also present were ADC (J) Isha Singla , Madam Kanchan , and other distinguished guests who graced the occasion.

Fashion Meets Heritage: A Unique Showcase

Under the guidance of Satinder Satti, the Ethnic Walk Fashion Show brought together the timeless elegance of Punjabi attire and contemporary design aesthetics. Renowned designers Ali and Kim presented a stunning collection that reimagined traditional Punjabi clothing with a modern twist. Nearly two dozen models walked the ramp, showcasing the regal Patialashahi style blended seamlessly with contemporary fashion trends.

The runway came alive with intricate hand-embroidered designs, architecture-inspired salwar suits, lehengas, shararas, ghararas, anarkalis, sherwanis, kurtas, and custom-designed footwear. Each piece was a testament to Punjab’s rich craftsmanship and cultural heritage, drawing admiration from the audience.

Celebrating Punjab’s Artistic Legacy

The fashion show was not just about clothing; it was a celebration of Punjab’s artistic traditions. Handcrafted embroidery, which is slowly fading, was given center stage, reminding everyone of the need to preserve these dying art forms. The event beautifully wove together Punjab’s history, culture, and modern sensibilities, elevating the Patiala Heritage Festival to new heights.

While the fashion show mesmerized the audience, Satinder Satti stirred emotions with her soulful renditions of Punjabi folk songs and historical ballads, creating a deep connection with Punjab’s glorious past. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Kundan Gogiya praised the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann , for its efforts to revive Punjab’s cultural vibrancy and restore its identity as the “Land of Five Rivers.” He emphasized that events like the Patiala Heritage Festival are a testament to this vision.

Kundan Gogiya expressed confidence that such initiatives will give Punjabi culture a renewed global identity, making it a beacon of pride for future generations.
