Pidilite’s ₹300 Crore Investment: A Boost for Punjab Industry

Chandigarh, January 7

Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora today revealed that Pidilite Industries Limited—a leading player in adhesives and construction chemicals—will invest approximately ₹300 crore to build a new manufacturing plant in the state.

The facility will be situated in Village Majri Faqiran and Village Sohne Majra, Sub-Tehsil Ghanaur, Rajpura, in Patiala district. It will span about 31 acres.

According to the minister, the plant will specialize in mixing and blending water-based adhesives and waterproofing products. It is planned to have a total annual capacity of 200,000 metric tonnes, including 140,000 MT of water-based adhesives and 60,000 MT of waterproofing products. The unit will mainly serve the domestic Indian market, with potential for future exports to nearby countries.

The project is expected to create around 300 jobs (direct and indirect) in skilled, semi-skilled, and supervisory roles. The facility will incorporate state-of-the-art process equipment, utilities, and dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems, adhering to top industry standards.

Founded in 1969, Pidilite Industries Limited is a pioneer and market leader in consumer and specialty chemicals in India. It holds a strong position in adhesives and sealants, construction chemicals, industrial resins, pigments, and art & craft materials. Its flagship brand, Fevicol, is one of the country’s most trusted and iconic brands.

Arora noted that this Punjab plant aligns with Pidilite’s strategy to expand its manufacturing presence in North India and address rising regional demand. The project will be fully funded through the company’s internal accruals, with commercial production slated to begin by December 2027.

The minister emphasized that this major investment highlights Punjab’s increasing appeal as a top destination for large-scale manufacturing. This is supported by the state’s strong industrial infrastructure, excellent connectivity, skilled workforce, and the government’s progressive, investor-friendly policies.
