The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Harminder Singh, Deputy Chief Engineer, and Kewal Sharma, Lineman, both posted at the PSPCL Division Range office in Hoshiarpur, for accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.

The arrests followed a complaint filed by Lakhvir Singh, Senior Executive Engineer at the PSPCL Division office in Mukerian. Singh alleged that the Deputy Chief Engineer had demanded ₹50,000 and instructed him to deliver the money to Lineman Kewal Sharma.
A VB team from Hoshiarpur laid a trap and caught both accused red-handed accepting the bribe from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against them at the VB police station in Jalandhar range, and further investigation is underway.
