Punjab CM Calls for United Effort to Make State a Frontrunner

Chandigarh, November 13

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has called upon intellectuals, academicians, industrialists, bureaucrats, and other stakeholders to join hands and make Punjab a leading state in the country.

Addressing a gathering at Panjab University, Mann emphasized the state’s rich history and potential. He criticized previous governments for neglecting the state’s development and urged for collective efforts to address pressing issues like stubble burning.

Mann expressed concern over the plight of farmers, who face criminal charges for burning paddy straw. He stressed the need for sustainable solutions and called for a joint effort by the central and state governments to develop effective strategies for managing crop residue.

The Chief Minister also advocated for a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) for alternative crops to encourage farmers to diversify their cultivation practices. He highlighted the challenges faced by Punjab’s agriculture sector, including declining water tables and soil degradation.

Mann assured the audience that the Punjab government is committed to protecting the interests of Punjab University and will oppose any attempts to change its status. He also emphasized the importance of quality education and healthcare and announced steps to improve these sectors.

The Chief Minister concluded his speech by expressing optimism about the future of Punjab. He urged the youth to strive for excellence and assured them of the state government’s support in achieving their goals.
