Their verification confirmed the encroachment on government land, resulting in a penalty of Rs 3,284 imposed on the encroacher. However, the neighbor retaliated by blocking the village drainage system, prompting the complainant to approach Singh again. Singh reportedly demanded silence on the earlier bribe and threatened inaction on the drainage issue unless further payments were made.

Following a thorough verification of the complainant’s allegations, the VB registered a case against Satnam Singh under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the VB Police Station, Range Amritsar. He was arrested and is scheduled to be presented before a competent court on May 6, 2025.
