Punjab Deploys ₹47 Crore Worth of Emergency Fire Equipment on Border to Counter Crisis

Chandigarh, May 10:

Amid escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday dedicated fire and emergency equipment worth ₹47 crore to bolster crisis response capabilities in the state’s border regions.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s acute awareness of the volatile situation at the border. To address the needs of these sensitive areas, fire apparatus including small and medium fire tenders, Disaster Deployment Kits (DD Kits), Hydraulic Combi Tool Collapse Structure and Rescue Kits (CSSR Kits), Gas Detectors, Fire Entry Suits, Battery Backup Lighting Towers, Multipurpose Fire Tenders, Quick Response Vehicles (Small), and other critical machinery have been deployed, totaling ₹47 crore in value.

Mann announced that this equipment will be stationed in high-risk areas such as Pathankot, Rajasansi, Ferozepur, and other vulnerable locations. These resources will be instrumental in managing emergencies arising from the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. He reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of border residents by meeting all necessary requirements.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the newly deployed machinery will significantly enhance relief and rescue operations during crises. He assured that Punjab is fully equipped to confront any challenges in these testing times and is dedicated to supporting the Indian Armed Forces. Mann emphasized that no effort is being spared to strengthen the state’s preparedness and assist national security forces in this critical period.
