Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh laid the foundation stone for a ₹10.61 crore sewerage project in Alawalpur. This project aims to improve sanitation facilities for over 10,000 residents.
Key Features of the Project:
- 896-meter intercepting sewerage line
- 2 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP)
- Main pumping station
- 100-meter rising line
- Screening chamber
The new sewerage system will replace the current practice of disposing of wastewater into a village pond, which has led to pollution. The treated wastewater will be reused for irrigation, benefiting local farmers.
