Punjab Government Provides Jobs to 597 Families of Farmers Who Died During Farm Law Protests

Chandigarh, February 4

The Punjab government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has provided government jobs to 597 family members of farmers who lost their lives during the protests against the now-repealed farm laws. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian emphasized the state government’s solidarity with the farming community and its commitment to supporting their families.

Khudian handed over appointment letters to three individuals from the families of deceased farmers. Jasvipan Kamboj (Fazilka district), Ramadeep Kaur (Tarn Taran district), and Parwinder Kaur (Jalandhar district) have been appointed as Computer (Stat) in the Statistics wing of the Agriculture Department. The Minister extended his best wishes to the new employees and encouraged them to contribute to Punjab’s development while upholding transparency and efficiency in their work.

Khudian reiterated the Mann government’s dedication to creating job opportunities for youth and addressing farmers’ concerns. The government aims to implement policies that promote agricultural growth and improve the livelihoods of the farming community. He urged the new appointees to maintain integrity and accountability in their roles.

The Punjab government has provided over 50,000 government jobs across various departments, demonstrating its commitment to securing stable employment for the state’s youth.

Director of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Jaswant Singh and other officials were also present at the ceremony.
