In a proud moment for Punjab, 260 students from state government schools have successfully cleared the prestigious JEE (Mains) examination, showcasing the high-quality education provided in these institutions, announced Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Bains.
Speaking at a press conference at Punjab Bhawan on Wednesday evening, Harjot Bains revealed that the qualified students are now preparing for the JEE (Advanced) exam. To support their journey, the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has arranged free coaching through a summer camp in SAS Nagar to help them excel in the upcoming exam.

Congratulating the students, their teachers, and parents, Harjot Bains highlighted that this achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the students, supported by their educators and families. He reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to delivering quality education to all students and emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and resources in government schools to foster more such successes.
The Education Minister shared the inspiring story of Arshdeep Singh, a JEE (Mains) qualifier from Shaheed Flight Lt. Mohit Kumar Garg School of Eminence, Samana. Hailing from Patiala district, Arshdeep achieved an impressive 97.79 percentile despite facing significant challenges. After losing his father, Sukhwinder Singh, his mother, Sunita Rani, has been supporting the family on an annual income of less than one lakh, working at a local private school. Despite financial hardships, she instilled in Arshdeep the importance of education and perseverance.
With support from the School of Eminence and the “PACE” Program, Arshdeep gained not only academic guidance but also the confidence to aim higher. He now aspires to build a brighter future for his family and contribute to the society that has supported him, the minister added.
