Punjab Government Suspends 26 Jail Department Officers and Employees for Dereliction of Duty

The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has suspended 26 officers and employees of the Jail Department for dereliction of duty, reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy toward negligence.
Suspension Details
Punjab Jail Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar announced that the suspensions were enacted with immediate effect under the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970, due to negligence and dereliction of duty. The minister emphasized that illegal activities, misbehavior, indiscipline, unauthorized absence, and any involvement with prisoners will not be tolerated.

Minister’s Statement
