Chandigarh, November 7
The Punjab government has taken strict action against a Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) in Ferozepur for negligence in preventing fertilizer hoarding. Jagir Singh, the CAO, has been suspended with immediate effect.
The action was taken after a complaint was lodged against the CAO by the Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur. An inspection conducted by a team led by the SDM revealed the illegal storage of 161.8 metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer by M/S. Sachdeva Traders.
