Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains laid the foundation stone for the upgrade of Shaheed E Azam Sukhdev Thapar School of Eminence in Bharat Nagar, Ludhiana. The project, worth approximately Rs 17 crore, will provide the school with state-of-the-art facilities, including:
- Indoor sports facility
- Multipurpose hall
- Science laboratories
- Additional classrooms
- Upgraded infrastructure
This upgrade aims to transform the school into a premier educational institution, offering students a world-class learning environment.

The Minister emphasized the Punjab government’s commitment to providing quality education to all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background. The Schools of Eminence initiative is a key part of this effort, providing government schools with the resources and infrastructure to rival private institutions.
Bains also highlighted the importance of the Business Blaster initiative, which encourages students to develop entrepreneurial skills and become job creators. The government is also focused on improving foundational literacy and numeracy skills through the Mission Samarth program.
With these initiatives, the Punjab government aims to create a brighter future for the state’s youth.
