The Punjab government has taken a significant step towards regulating playway schools in the state. A new rule mandates that all playway schools must register with the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development within six months.

- ECCE Council Recommendations: The decision is based on recommendations from the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Council.
- Online Registration: An online system will be implemented to streamline the registration process.
- Curriculum Guidelines: The ECCE Council has developed the Navchetna and Aadharshila curricula for early childhood education.
- Focus on Play-Based Learning: Playway schools are encouraged to adopt play-based learning methods.
- Parental Involvement: Parents-teacher WhatsApp groups will be formed to enhance communication and monitor children’s well-being.
- Infrastructure Standards: Playway schools must have adequate play areas and CCTV surveillance.
