Punjab Police Arrests Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s Key Associate in Jalandhar Encounter
Chandigarh/Jalandhar, September 3
In a significant operation against organized crime, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police arrested Jagkaran Gujjar alias Kannu, a close associate of notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. The arrest followed a brief encounter near Hamilton Tower in Jalandhar, where Kannu sustained injuries while attempting to escape custody.

Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, announced the arrest and subsequent recovery of a substantial cache of weapons. Police teams seized eight pistols, 55 live cartridges, and eight magazines from the location.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Jalandhar, Swapan Sharma, revealed that Kannu Gujjar has been implicated in at least eight heinous crimes. The incident is under investigation by forensic and scientific experts.
