Punjab Police Busts Drug Cartel, Arrests Juvenile Among 4 Smugglers in Amritsar; Seizes 4kg Heroin & ₹20K

CHANDIGARH/AMRITSAR, March 10
In a significant crackdown under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, Punjab Police arrested four drug smugglers , including a 16-year-old juvenile , and recovered 4.01 kg heroin , ₹20,000 in drug money, and three motorcycles from Amritsar. The operation, led by Amritsar Commissionerate Police, dismantled a cross-border drug trafficking network linked to Pakistan-based smugglers, said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Monday.

- Tarsem Singh alias Sema (23), Amrit Singh alias Abhi (21) of Jalalabad (Fazilka).
- Ramanjit Singh alias Raman (19) of Tarn Taran.
- A juvenile (identity withheld) from Ferozepur.
- Modus Operandi :
- The juvenile allegedly used boats to cross the Sutlej River and retrieve drug consignments dropped by Pakistani smugglers near the international border.
- Pakistan-based handlers provided precise coordinates for drug drops in the Ferozepur sector.
- Recoveries :
- 4.01 kg heroin, ₹20,000 cash, and three motorcycles.
