Punjab Police has launched a crackdown against illegal travel agents operating in the state, targeting those who are defrauding aspiring youth seeking employment abroad. In a joint operation with the Protectorate of Emigrants, the police have booked 25 travel agents for illegally advertising employment opportunities on social media.

The Punjab Police, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to protecting the youth from falling prey to such fraudulent activities. The NRI Affairs Wing and Cyber Crime Wing have been actively monitoring online platforms and taking action against unlicensed travel agents.
A total of 20 FIRs have been registered against these travel agents in various NRI Police Stations across the state. The police have urged the public to exercise caution and verify the credentials of travel agents before entrusting them with their documents and money. Only agencies with a valid Recruiting Agent (RA) license should be engaged.
The Punjab Police’s crackdown on illegal travel agents highlights their commitment to protecting the interests of the youth and ensuring that they are not exploited by unscrupulous individuals.
