In a major operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in collaboration with Bathinda Police, foiled a planned dacoity and arrested Jaspreet Singh alias Jassa, the kingpin of the notorious Jassa Burj Gang, along with three associates. Four .32 bore pistols and 11 live cartridges were recovered from their possession.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav announced the operation on Saturday, highlighting the state’s commitment to combating organized crime.

The arrested accomplices, Karanveer Singh alias Karni, Resham Singh, and Hardeep Singh alias Aarshi, have criminal records involving arms supply, snatching, kidnapping, and other offenses.
Acting on a tip-off, AGTF and Bathinda Police teams intercepted the accused persons on Bathinda’s ring road and seized the weapons. The operation was led by DSP AGTF Jaspal Singh, DSP City -2 Sarabjeet Singh, and Incharge CIA-2 Bathinda Insp Karandeep Singh.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were planning a dacoity against a financier in Bathinda’s Rama Mandi area. Further investigations are underway to uncover additional connections.
SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal shared that Jaspreet Singh alias Jassa and his associates were also involved in a violent incident at DAV College Bathinda last month. Jassa has a criminal history with at least 11 cases of heinous crimes.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act and the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Cantt Bathinda.
