Germany-Based Goldy Dhillon, Linked to Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, Identified as Module’s Handler: DGP Gaurav Yadav

Ongoing Probes Aim to Uncover Transnational Links and Anti-National Activities

CHANDIGARH, April 13

In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police thwarted a potential terror attack in the border state by dismantling a terror module operated by Germany-based Gurpreet Singh, alias Goldy Dhillon, a key figure in the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The operation led to the arrest of two operatives and the recovery of a 2.8kg improvised explosive device (IED) containing 1.6kg of RDX, along with a remote control, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced on Sunday. The operation was executed by joint teams from Counter Intelligence (CI) Ferozepur and the State Special Operating Cell (SSOC), SAS Nagar, aligning with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision for a safe and secure Punjab.

The arrested individuals, Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh, both from Fatehgarh Sahib district, have prior criminal records, including multiple narcotics-related cases.

DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed that Goldy Dhillon, the module’s handler, carries a ₹10 lakh reward from the National Investigation Agency (NIA). “By busting this module, Punjab Police has disrupted Pakistan’s ISI plans to destabilize peace in the region,” he said. Preliminary investigations indicate Dhillon’s recent involvement in orchestrating targeted attacks on prominent individuals in Punjab, acting under ISI directives. Further probes are underway to explore the module’s transnational connections and potential anti-national activities.

AIG CI Ferozepur Gursevak Singh Brar shared operational details, stating that credible intelligence pointed to Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh retrieving an explosive consignment under Dhillon’s instructions. The duo planned to deliver the IED to an unidentified associate using their white Hyundai Venue. Acting swiftly, CI Ferozepur and SSOC SAS Nagar teams apprehended the suspects in the Sirhind area of Fatehgarh Sahib, recovering the IED from their vehicle, which was also impounded.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 4, dated April 11, 2025, at SSOC SAS Nagar Police Station, invoking sections 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act.

This operation underscores Punjab Police’s relentless efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard the state, with ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling broader networks threatening national security.
