In line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of a safe and secure Punjab, Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla launched a special campaign against the use of Chinese ‘manjha’ (kite string).
Following the directions of DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, the police have been actively cracking down on the sale and use of this dangerous material. In the last 20 days, police teams across the state have recovered 80,879 bundles of Chinese dor and registered 90 FIRs against those involved in its sale.
During his visit to Jalandhar and Ludhiana, accompanied by Commissioners of Police Swapan Sharma and Kuldeep Singh Chahal respectively, the Special DGP interacted with kite sellers, urging them to refrain from selling Chinese manjha and to report any illegal activities.

Security Preparations for Republic Day:
The Special DGP also reviewed security arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. He directed all CPs/SSPs to increase the number of police checkpoints and intensify surveillance in crowded areas, malls, and other public spaces. Special operations and raids are being conducted across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration.
