Chandigarh, February 4:
The Punjab Police has announced an improved passport verification system designed to provide more transparent and timely service to citizens. The new system will utilize SMS notifications to keep applicants informed throughout the verification process.
Special DGP Community Affairs Division (CAD) Gurpreet Kaur Deo explained that, starting February 5, 2025, applicants will receive a pre-verification SMS from “PBSANJ” containing the name of the verifying officer and the scheduled date and time of their visit. This aims to eliminate uncertainty and improve communication with applicants.

Furthermore, a post-verification SMS will be sent to applicants, also from “PBSANJ,” containing a hyperlink to a feedback form. This will allow citizens to provide feedback on the officer’s conduct and the quality of service received. Deo stated that this feedback mechanism will be crucial for further improving service standards and promptly addressing any citizen concerns. The feedback form will allow applicants to share suggestions, comments, or concerns.
