Chandigarh, August 26
Punjab Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO announced the successful conclusion of a statewide two-day drive aimed at curbing power theft and promoting energy conservation. The operation resulted in the inspection of over 50,000 connections, with 3,349 instances of theft detected. Penalties totaling Rs 7.66 crore were imposed on offenders.
Minister ETO highlighted the significant results achieved by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) during the drive. The Distribution and Enforcement wings inspected connections across all regions of the state, identifying and addressing cases of power theft.
