Chandigarh, October 16: In a significant move to improve transparency and efficiency, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, organized a special camp for real estate developers. This first-of-its-kind initiative aimed to clear pending approvals and expedite related processes.
Certificates Issued: As part of the camp, Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Chief Secretary KAP Sinha personally handed over crucial documents to 51 promoters/builders. These included colony licenses, completion certificates, zoning plans, and promoter registration certificates.

Government’s Commitment:
- Minister Mundian: Highlighted the government’s dedication to providing hassle-free and transparent services to the people. Announced a second camp scheduled for late November. Established an email address (transparency.hud@gmail.com) for developers to lodge complaints directly. Urged developers to prioritize resident welfare in their projects and contribute to the state’s overall development.
- Chief Secretary Sinha: Emphasized the government’s seriousness in tackling pendency issues. Stated that similar camps will be organized for other departments to streamline approvals. Believes this initiative will benefit residents, improve urban development, and boost the state’s economy.
- Secretary Tewari: Reiterated that this is the first type of initiative aimed at resolving pending developer issues in the state. Highlighted the vital role developers play in urban development and assured them of efficient service delivery.
Industry Response: Jagjit Singh from CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India) welcomed the initiative and expressed his gratitude to the government.
