The Punjab Vidhan Sabha has transitioned to a paperless system with the launch of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, marks a significant step towards modernizing the State Legislative Assembly’s operations.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan stated that the digitization of the Vidhan Sabha will empower MLAs to more effectively address public concerns. He described the move as the beginning of a new era, emphasizing the increased transparency and accountability facilitated by paperless operations and easier access to decisions and records.

Sandhwan also highlighted that live telecasts of House proceedings have been available on the official social media platforms of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and the Punjab Government since 2022, allowing the public to easily follow the legislative process. The NeVA application itself was inaugurated on September 23, 2023, to streamline information exchange within the House.
NeVA is a Government of India mission mode project aimed at making the functioning of legislative assemblies across the country paperless. Its objective is to present the proceedings of these assemblies in a more efficient and transparent manner
