The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Surinder Dhillon, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) of Sri Muktsar Sahib, in connection with a corruption case related to the Amritsar-Kolkata Corridor project.
The Allegations:
- Dhillon, who was previously the District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) of Patiala district, is accused of misappropriating funds allocated for land acquisition and development projects related to the corridor.
- The charges against him include embezzlement, fraud, and criminal breach of trust.
- The VB alleges that Dhillon misused funds meant for village development and failed to comply with proper procedures.
