The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested a junior engineer and a contractor from the Municipal Council (MC) Budhlada for allegedly embezzling government funds. The officials are accused of irregularities in the construction of a road project.

- Financial Loss: The officials and contractor conspired to inflate the cost of the road construction project, causing a significant financial loss to the government.
- Falsification of Records: The officials failed to conduct proper inspections and falsified official records to justify payments to the contractor.
- Evidence of Collusion: The contractor deposited a bribe to the MC’s Executive Officer, further indicating collusion between the parties.
The VB has registered a case against the accused under various corruption and fraud charges. The arrested individuals are being detained, and further investigations are underway.
