In a major push to enhance e-Governance and improve citizen-centric services, the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has announced the launch of eight new online services under the Local Government Department. This initiative aims to streamline administrative processes, boost transparency, and increase the efficiency of government operations.
Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh elaborated that the new services include online application and issuance of pet licenses for urban residents, a digital platform for managing rent and lease agreements, online approvals for advertisements and hoardings, e-challaning for traffic and other violations, and online payment of garbage collection fees.
“Punjab is already a leader in e-Governance services. These new initiatives will elevate urban services to the next level, ensuring greater efficiency in local government institutions and providing citizens with convenient, transparent access to essential services,” Dr. Singh stated.

He emphasized that automation and digitization will significantly reduce processing times, enhance employee productivity, and offer real-time updates and tracking for citizens. These digital platforms will allow government staff to prioritize high-impact tasks, improving overall service delivery and efficiency.
Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment to innovation and good governance, Dr. Singh highlighted ongoing efforts to leverage technology for better administration. He expressed confidence that these services will greatly enhance the citizen experience and set a new standard for modern urban governance across India.
