District Education Officer Directed to Submit Report on Damaged Roofs and Other Losses
Meets Ulatpur Residents, Assures Adequate Fodder and Essential Supplies: Dr. Preeti Yadav

Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav conducted an inspection of schools damaged due to heavy rainfall and flooding. She instructed the District Education Officer to submit a detailed report on the damage to school roofs, boundary walls, and other infrastructure caused by the heavy rains and floodwaters.
Dr. Yadav visited government primary schools in Dadherian and Gangrola, where water had entered classrooms due to damaged roofs, and inspected schools in Jawalapur and Ulatpur, where floodwaters caused collapsed walls and other structural damage. She was accompanied by SDM Harjot Kaur Mavi, District Education Officer Shalu Mehra, and other officials.

Dr. Yadav emphasized that education is a top priority for the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership. She assured that repairs to flood-damaged schools would be carried out promptly to ensure no disruption to students’ education. She directed school heads to prioritize student safety, ensuring thorough repairs to classrooms, roofs, boundary walls, and other necessary infrastructure on a priority basis.
During her visit, Dr. Yadav also met with the Ulatpur panchayat and other villagers to assess crop losses caused by the floods and discuss provisions for livestock fodder. Residents noted that receding water levels would soon provide some relief. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Executive Engineer of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department to repair damaged water supply pipelines, ensure the provision of clean drinking water, and carry out chlorination of water sources.
Villagers reported significant crop losses and a shortage of fodder for livestock. In response, Dr. Yadav assured that green fodder and silage are being provided as per the village’s needs, emphasizing that there is no shortage of essential supplies. She reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to standing by the affected communities.
