Scholar Fields Public School celebrated the festival of Baisakhi

Patiala, 12 April

Baisakhi is symbolic of  resilience and triumph of  the human spirit
over adversity as evident by the resilience of the farmers who toil
hard  to reap the harvest despite facing numerous challenges.
The celebration began  by seeking the blessings of the almighty
God.The soulful rendition of shabad by the music choir filled the
atmosphere with positivity.
 Jasmanjeet kaur of grade -X presented speech on Baisakhi.
After that, Harnoor kaur of grade -X  recited a poem on Baisakhi.
The students of kindergarten were dressed up in traditional Punjabi
attire and grooved on the beats of dhol. The students of grade 1 and 2
 presented a ramp walk in their traditional Punjabi attire.
It was followed by two solo dance performances by Gurleen kaur of +1
and Maithily of grade -X. An act was presented on
the history of Baisakhi by the students of grade 3 to 6. As Baisakhi
is incomplete without the lively beats of the dhol and resonating
tunes of traditional Punjabi instruments, so giddha was performed by
the girls of senior wing. Afterwards, an energetic bhangra by Shivram
Singh of grade -3 was performed.
An origami activity was also organised for the students of grade 3 and 4.
The event culminated with an address by the school Principal Dr.
Poonam Arora who apprised the students about the beauty, significance
of Baisakhi and its association with the  Sikh religion.
