–Education is the real tool to eradicate poverty and social inequalities
–Students should become grass-rooters, not parachuters, and rise through hard work
JALANDHAR, 11 March
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said that the Punjab Government’s Schools of Eminence (SoE) are emerging as powerful catalysts that are transforming the future of students and giving wings to the dreams of the youth of Punjab. While interacting with students at the School of Eminence in Adampur, the Chief Minister emphasized that education is the most effective tool to eliminate poverty and long-standing social inequalities. He said the Punjab Government is establishing world-class educational institutions so that talented students from every part of the state get equal opportunities to grow and succeed.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government has set up Schools of Eminence to bring about a major transformation in Punjab’s education system. He noted that these modern, hi-tech schools are equipped with advanced facilities to ensure that students excel in every field of life. According to him, these institutions are playing a significant role in providing quality education and shaping a brighter future for the youth.
Highlighting the government’s focus on education, CM Mann said his administration has made education a top priority and has introduced several path-breaking initiatives to improve people’s lives. He stressed that freebies or concession cards cannot eliminate poverty or social problems. Instead, education is the only real key that can help people rise above these challenges and improve their standard of living. He added that the Punjab Government is making continuous efforts to raise the quality of education and empower the common people.

Encouraging students to work hard and remain dedicated, the Chief Minister urged them to excel in every sphere of life. He said students must stay relevant with every passing hour and keep striving for excellence. He also mentioned that the Punjab Government encourages innovative and out-of-the-box ideas for the welfare and progress of the state.
Motivating students to grow through perseverance, CM Mann advised them to become grass-rooters rather than parachuters. He explained that grass-rooters are those who rise from the ground through determination and hard work and ultimately conquer the world, while parachuters descend quickly but often fall back just as fast.
The Chief Minister also advised students to remain humble despite their achievements. He urged them not to become arrogant with success but to stay grounded and continue striving for greater accomplishments. According to him, hard work is the only path to success, and students should use the opportunities provided to them not only to achieve success but also to become responsible and compassionate human beings.
He reminded students that there are no shortcuts to success and that consistent effort and dedication are the only ways to achieve their goals. The Chief Minister assured them that the Punjab Government would extend full support to help them realize their aspirations.
Citing examples from across the world, CM Mann said many people from humble backgrounds have achieved remarkable success through dedication and perseverance. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from such stories and prove their capabilities on the global stage. He assured them that the government would support them at every step of their journey.
Drawing an analogy with a garden, the Chief Minister said that just as a bouquet contains a variety of flowers that together create beauty and fragrance, diversity and collective effort strengthen society.
Highlighting Punjab’s rich legacy, CM Mann said the state is not only the food bowl of the nation but also known as the sword arm of the country. He said Punjabis are globally recognized for their courage, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. He added that every inch of this sacred land carries the legacy of great Gurus, saints, seers, and martyrs who stood against tyranny and injustice.
Wishing the students a bright and prosperous future, the Chief Minister expressed hope that they would create their own identity and make meaningful contributions to society. He encouraged them to believe in hard work, reminding them that the sky is the limit for those who remain dedicated and focused.
Comparing the role of the government to an airport runway that enables airplanes to take off smoothly, CM Mann said that in the same way, the Punjab Government is working to help young people realize their dreams. He added that every possible effort is being made to provide opportunities and give wings to the aspirations of the youth so they can achieve their full potential.
