Scintillating performances of Bhangra, Gidda & Theatre by children at Kalidasa Auditorium, Patiala

North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) in association with Natak Wala, Patiala is organizing ‘22nd Summer Theatre Festival’ at Kalidasa Auditorium, Virsa Vihar Kendra, Patiala from June 28 to 30, 2024.
On the first day of the festival, performances of Bhangra, Gidda and two plays ‘Teen Sawal’ and ‘Bailon Ki Katha’ prepared by the children during the 15 days Summer Workshop were held, in which the children showed their talent. Mandeep Kaur made everyone dance by singing Punjabi folk songs. NZCC’s Programme Officer said that the Children’s Theatre was prepared by Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Gidda by Mrs. Satbir Kaur Bagga and Bhangra by Mr. Gurdarshan Singh ‘Tony’.

Eminent artists of Patiala, parents of the children and others were also present on the occasion and appreciated the performances given by the children and encouraged them with applause.
“The NZCC deserves full-throated kudos for its path-breaking initiatives to promote art and culture in Patiala, by holding such theme workshops for children. Such workshops offer enough food for thought for the participating children, especially for those belonging to humble backgrounds, who get an opportunity to learn the intricacies of an art under their gurus ”, said a parent.
Tomorrow, June 29, 2024, a play ‘Vikas Da Bomb’ directed by Dr. Ankur Sharma will be staged at Kalidasa Auditorium, Virsa Vihar Kendra, Patiala at 07:00 pm onwards.
