Patiala, April 25:
Senior IAS officer Vinay Bublani, from the 2008 batch, officially took charge as the Divisional Commissioner of Patiala Division on Friday. Prior to this role, Bublani served as Secretary of the School Education Department and held the additional charge of Director General of School Education.
Upon his arrival at the District Administrative Complex in Patiala, Bublani was warmly welcomed by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Nanak Singh. A police contingent honored him with a Guard of Honour.

After assuming office, Bublani emphasized that his primary focus, in line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s directives, would be to ensure better, time-bound, and transparent administrative services for the people across the districts of Patiala Division. He held a brief meeting with Dr. Preeti Yadav, Dr. Nanak Singh, and other officials to gather insights about the district, directing them to implement government policies and programs effectively through mutual coordination.
Highlighting the Punjab Government’s transformative efforts, Bublani noted that under CM Mann’s leadership, the Punjab Education Revolution has significantly uplifted the infrastructure and quality of government schools. Drawing from his experience in the School Education Department, he expressed his intent to visit Schools of Eminence within his division to assess the qualitative improvements firsthand.
Bublani also reviewed the ongoing wheat procurement process, issuing instructions to ensure immediate purchase, payment, and lifting of crops brought by farmers to the mandis, facilitating a seamless process.
Notably, Bublani has previously served in key roles, including Deputy Commissioner of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Director of Land Records in Jalandhar, and Special Secretary of Revenue. Before taking charge, he, along with his wife, Mrs. Mridula Bublani, visited the Sri Kali Devi Temple to offer prayers for the welfare of all.
The event was attended by SP (Headquarters) Vaibhav Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Deepjot Kaur, SDM Kripalveer Singh, Chief Minister’s Field Officer Navjot Sharma, and Divisional Commissioner’s Personal Assistant Ashu Garg, among other officials. The staff of the Divisional Commissioner’s office also extended a warm welcome to Bublani.
