Significant Rise in Enrollment for Undergraduate Courses at Punjabi University

Patiala, June 5

Punjabi University has witnessed a notable increase of over 12% in the number of students seeking admission to various undergraduate courses compared to the previous year during the new session. Vice Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh reviewed the situation on Thursday while visiting different departments conducting interviews and counseling for admissions. He also interacted with students and their parents to understand their views and concerns.

Dr. Jagdeep Singh expressed delight at the rising interest in all courses, stating that maintaining the trust students place in Punjabi University is a top priority. He assured that every effort will be made to enhance the academic environment on campus.

Director of the Central Admission Cell, Dr. Gulshan Bansal, shared data indicating a 12% to 17% surge in applications for courses like B.Pharmacy, B.Com, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Hotel Management, and Engineering compared to last year. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in interest for Arts and Science courses, particularly in Economics, English, History, Political Science, Psychology, Punjabi, Biotechnology, and Chemistry. He added that more applications are expected in the coming days.
