The statements were documented at the Circuit House here.

Led by ADGP AS Rai, the SIT—comprising SSP Hoshiarpur Sandeep Malik, SP SAS Nagar Manpreet Singh, and DSP Baghapurana Dalbir Singh Sidhu—spent nearly three hours recording the statements of the involved police personnel.

Speaking to the media afterward, ADGP AS Rai revealed that the SIT had visited the incident site on March 31 and collected documentary evidence, which was submitted to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory of the Government of India the previous day. He added that with the statements of the six Civil Lines police personnel recorded today, alongside the collected documentary evidence, the investigation has now formally commenced in a structured manner. Rai assured that the SIT would soon bring the case to a conclusion.

Responding to journalists’ questions, ADGP Rai noted that on March 31, the SIT had released a phone number (75083 00342) for the public to provide information related to the case. Approximately 30 calls had been received, though callers expressed opinions rather than providing concrete evidence. He added that the SIT would summon others related to the case for questioning as needed. Rai also mentioned that a timeline of the incident has been prepared, and discrepancies identified are being thoroughly investigated.

Addressing another query, ADGP Rai said the statements in the FIR filed by Colonel Bath are being reviewed. He emphasized that if Colonel Bath wishes to share additional statements or points, he is welcome to present his side to the SIT at any time.
