‘Sustainable Skills, Strategies, and Solutions for India 2047’ Discussed

-Punjabi University Concludes Five-Day Multi-Disciplinary Faculty Development Program

The School of Management at Punjabi University, Patiala, successfully concluded a five-day multi-disciplinary Faculty Development Program (FDP) themed ‘Sustainable Skills, Strategies, and Solutions for India 2047.’ The program featured insightful discussions by various educationists and thought leaders, focusing on shaping a sustainable future for India.

At the closing ceremony, the chief guest, Dr. B.S. Bhatia, Pro-Chancellor of Rimt University, emphasized the pivotal role of skill development in shaping India’s future. He stressed the need for long-term vision and sustainable development that preserves resources for future generations. Dr. Bhatia cautioned against development at the cost of depleting natural and non-renewable resources, urging faculty members to integrate sustainability, innovation, and ethical responsibility into education and institutional frameworks.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of Khalsa College, Patiala, attended as the special guest and highlighted the importance of intellectual capital derived from India’s cultural ethos and spiritual values. Drawing from his extensive research and academic experience, he advocated for inclusive policies and practices in educational institutions to promote equality and holistic development. He also underscored education’s role in fostering environmentally conscious and socially responsible citizens.

Dr. Amar Inder Singh, Head of the Department, delivered the vote of thanks, commending the active participation of faculty and experts. He reiterated the department’s commitment to nurturing forward-thinking educators through such multi-disciplinary initiatives.
